This policy explains what data EditMyPDF (edit-my-pdf.com) handles, why, and what rights you have. In short: the browser tools process your files on your own device, Advanced AI mode deletes your files shortly after processing, we never sell data or share your files with anyone, and the free tools are paid for by ads that use cookies only if you allow it.

1. Who is responsible

EditMyPDF is operated by Ghada Tuameh, a sole proprietorship established in Türkiye ("we", "us"). We are the data controller under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR").

2. Browser mode: your files stay on your device

Most tools (merge, split, compress, convert, edit, sign, protect, AI checker, OCR, print layout, batch processing and others marked "Browser") run entirely inside your web browser. The files you open are not uploaded to us and we cannot see them.

Some browser tools need outside help, and we tell you on the tool page:

• Translate PDF sends the text being translated to Google Translate and, if that fails, to the MyMemory translation service (translated.net). The file itself is not sent, only the text.
• OCR downloads its recognition engine and language files from a public content delivery network (jsDelivr). Your file is not sent.

3. Advanced AI mode

Advanced AI tools (for example AI OCR, AI translation and the GPU humanizer) run on our own private GPU server, not on a third-party AI provider. To use them you need a free account, and the file or text you submit is uploaded through Google Firebase to that server.

Uploaded files, results and the job record are deleted automatically after the job finishes, normally within minutes. Hourly job counters (used to prevent abuse) are deleted after about two days. Your credit balance and credit history (amounts, job type and date, never file names or content) are kept while you have an account. Your content is never used to train AI models and is never shared with or sold to anyone.

Ad-free downloads (see section 4) are recorded in the same credit history with their page count only.

4. Data we process

• Session identifier: when you open the app, Firebase creates an anonymous session ID so the site can work and so limits and abuse protection can be applied. It does not contain your name or email.
• Account data (only if you create an account): your email address and password (stored by Google Firebase Authentication in hashed form), or, if you sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile picture Google shares with us.
• Advanced AI jobs: the file or text you submit, the result, the tool used, timestamps and job status, kept only until deleted as described in section 3.
• Technical data: like every website, our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) receives your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and keeps short-term server logs for security and operation.
• Messages you send us by email.

Advertising: the free tools are paid for by ads. When your file is ready, we show a short ad (about 4 seconds) before you download it, and the site has ad spaces. Your files and their content are never shown or sent to advertisers.

Ad partners (for example Google AdSense or Google Ad Manager) may use cookies or similar technologies on your device to show, limit, measure and personalize ads, but only if you choose "Accept all" or turn on Advertising in our cookie banner. If you refuse, any ads shown are not personalized and ad partners are told not to use cookies for advertising. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. We do not use analytics tools today; the Analytics option in the banner only matters if we add them, and we will update this policy first.

No ads: with a free, verified account you can turn ads off with the "No ads" switch. Browser-mode downloads then cost 1 credit per 10 pages (rounded up, at least 1 credit per download), and Advanced AI jobs cost twice the normal credits while the switch is on. If you hold purchased credits, you see no ads and pay the normal costs.

5. Why we process it (legal bases)

• To provide the service you request, including your account and Advanced AI jobs (performance of a contract: KVKK Art. 5(2)(c), GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce usage limits (our legitimate interest: KVKK Art. 5(2)(f), GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
• To answer your messages and handle requests about your rights (legitimate interest and legal obligation: KVKK Art. 5(2)(ç), GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)).
• To use advertising cookies and personalize ads, only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time (explicit consent: KVKK Art. 5(1), GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Showing non-personalized ads to fund the free service is our legitimate interest (KVKK Art. 5(2)(f), GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

6. Storage on your device

The site stores a few settings in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB: your language, theme, sign-in session, your cookie choice, your "No ads" setting and, if you use it, the writing-style sample for the humanizer. They stay on your device, are only used to make the site work as you set it, and are not used for tracking. Advertising cookies set by ad partners are separate and described in section 4. You can delete all of them at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

The app loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the fonts are downloaded.

7. Service providers and transfers abroad

We use these providers to run the service:

• Google (Firebase Hosting, Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage and Cloud Functions; Google Fonts; Google Translate for Translate PDF).
• Translated S.r.l. (MyMemory), only as the fallback for Translate PDF.
• jsDelivr, only to deliver the OCR engine files.
• Advertising partners (for example Google AdSense or Google Ad Manager), only to show ads as described in section 4.

Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside Türkiye, including in the United States and the EU. Such transfers are made in line with KVKK Article 9 and GDPR Chapter V, relying on the safeguards these providers offer (such as standard contractual clauses) or, where required, on your explicit consent.

8. How long we keep data

• Advanced AI files, results and job records: deleted automatically after processing, normally within minutes.
• Hourly job counters: about two days.
• Credit balance and credit history: until your account is deleted.
• Account data: until you delete your account or ask us to delete it.
• Emails: as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted.
• Hosting logs: for the short period set by Google Firebase.

9. Your rights

Under KVKK Article 11 and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can ask to know whether we process your personal data, get access to it and a copy, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to processing, receive it in a portable format, learn who it was shared with, and claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.

Send requests to support@ahillaapps.com from the email address linked to your account where possible. We answer within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu) or to the data protection authority of your EU country.

10. Children

EditMyPDF is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

Connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS). Advanced AI files are stored only for the job and can be read only by your own account and by our server that processes it, and our GPU server has no open inbound ports: it fetches jobs over an outbound encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not upload documents you are not allowed to share.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
